Who this is for
These terms are for independent teachers who sell courses through the app and the Teacher Portal. Teachers of an institution follow the agreement with their institution.
Your agreement
When you create an account you tick a box to say that you accept these Teacher Terms, the Terms of Use, the Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy. We keep a record of the day and the version. Every payment a learner makes is final and non-refundable, so a sale is never taken back from you because of a change of mind (a store refund under the store rules is the exception, and it reduces your balance).
Applying and your profile
- You apply in the portal. The administrator accepts or declines the application.
- Your public profile (photo, display name, title, short introduction and optional 60-second introduction video) is shown to learners only after the administrator has approved it. A change to an approved profile is approved again before it shows.
- Only use a photo and a video that you own or are allowed to use, that show you, and that are suitable for learners.
Your lectures
- Every lecture is approved before learners see it. A change you make to an approved lecture is a new version; learners keep seeing the old approved version until the new one is approved.
- Each lecture needs the required parts (words, sentences, video and slides). One lecture per course can be a free preview.
- You must own what you upload, or have the right to use it. You are responsible for it being correct and lawful. You keep your rights; you give the app the right to show it to learners who bought the course.
- The administrator may reject or remove content that is wrong, copied or unsuitable.
Prices
Only the administrator sets and changes prices. You cannot set, suggest or edit a price; you can see the final price of an approved course, read-only.
Your earnings
- Learners' payments are final and non-refundable, so a sale normally stays a sale. The exceptions are a refund made by Apple or Google, a payment charged twice, or a refund the law requires.
- You receive 90% of each sale after any store fee, and the app keeps 10%. For a sale made in the App Store or Google Play, the store's fee (currently 15%) is taken first and the 90 / 10 split is applied to the rest. The sale record shows each amount.
- If a sale is refunded for one of those reasons, your share of that sale is taken back from your balance or from a later payout.
- Payouts are made by the administrator once a week to the payout account you saved in the portal. You are responsible for any tax on your earnings.
Ratings
Learners rate your course 1 to 5 stars. There are no comments. You cannot change or remove ratings.
Ending
You can stop selling at any time; learners who already bought keep their access. We may suspend a teacher who breaks these terms.
